Shinigami is an original fine fiber art wool painting. The dimensions are 8″ x 10″. “Shinigami”, is made with wool and silk on canvas. Completed in 2021. The koi came to Madam, looking and waiting, like spirits charged with shepherding her life energy away from her body. There was no time left to debate, to question and wrestle with deeper motivations, no time left to fear embarrassment, humiliation, shame or even jail. Lack of oxygen burned like the breath of a dragon inside her. Would she, even could she, stay down below the water, to hide and die and keep her secrets to herself? No. Even in her advanced years, her body still demanded life. Her head broke through the surface of the water, the fresh air hit her lungs like a thunderclap. It didn’t feel like a choice, even as she berated herself for being too much of a coward to see her end through. She would live to face the truth.
Keeping Original Felt Fine Art Clean – Contrary to popular belief, wool art is easy to maintain. It can last hundreds, if not thousands of years if it is consistently treated well. Mounting your wool art on a wall in indirect sunlight will deter pests, which require dark areas with little to no air flow to reproduce. Dust is easily dislodged by patting the work from behind or firmly tapping the frame while holding the work face down. Dust can also be removed with canned air if desired.
