“Cup Mushrooms” is an original felt fine art wool painting. The dimensions are 5″ x 7″. “Cup Mushrooms” is made with wool, silk, moss and dried plant on canvas. The woods around Broken Elms are home to many fallen logs and broken stone. These cup mushrooms protrude from moldering pile of vegetation near an oddly angled log, no longer living but not yet fallen to the ground. The abundant rains fill the cups with water. The small basins are the perfect cradle for the more unusual tadpoles in the region. Once abundant, this variety is now a rarity due to deforestation and land management that removes dead wood from the forest floor. The wild frogs have seen a similar decline.
Keeping Original Felt Fine Art Clean – Contrary to popular belief, wool art is easy to maintain. It can last hundreds, if not thousands of years if it is consistently treated well. Mounting your wool art on a wall in indirect sunlight will deter pests, which require dark areas with little to no air flow to reproduce. Dust is easily dislodged by patting the work from behind or firmly tapping the frame while holding the work face down. Dust can also be removed with canned air if desired.
