Nearby the Devil’s Quill deep in the Lookso Mountains along the Southern fringe of Saola Spine Range, Pinnacle (population 5643) is a small town in the Southern Mountains. It is the home of the historic estate Towering Elms. Steeped in the settlement of the country it was a part-time home to Daniel Boone, and the site of a civil war encampment.
